Race report: The Vuelta doesnt do flat very well. Uphill fine. Downhill check. Rolling terrain you got it. But flat? Nope. It was another day where the profile hurt and with a nasty second-category climb towards the finish no-one expected to see the pure sprinters in the shake-up. So we had the win going to a Classics fastman To go with his Tour de France stage win and green jersey not that many weeks… Full Story »

Laurent Fignon: Champion Cyclist & Fashion Victim
Podium Café &bull Sep 1, 2010
What can you say about Laurent Fignon that hasn't been said dozens of times in the past twenty-four hours? How about this: for a Frenchman - a Parisian to boot - he had horrendous fashion sense. For sure, the Gandhi-glasses weren't too bad, even John… Full Story »

Behind-the-Scenes: Agent Orlando van den Bosche discusses the state of the peloton
www.velonation.com via @VeloNation &bull Sep 1, 2010The days and weeks after the 2010 Tour de France have proven to be some of the most volatile in recent years in terms of the professional cycling transfer market. We have seen the emergence of the Luxembourg team built around brothers Andy and Frank Schleck, and an Australian outfit that is trying to gain entrance into the ProTour and compete in Europe next season. Even existing teams have seen major change, with Maurio Gianetti's young Footon-Servetto-Fuji project adding buying power with sponsorship from Italian footwear company Geox, and ISD and Farnese Vini doing an unusual sponsor swap with Lampre.… Full Story »

Robert Millar Remembers Laurent Fignon
www.cyclingnews.com via @peloton &bull Sep 1, 2010Robert Millar and Laurent Fignon both made their Tour de France debut in 1983. And at the time both were perhaps 'young and carefree' as Fignon would go on to title his autobiography. Fignon went on to win the 1983 Tour, while Millar won a mountain stage and was fourteenth overall. In 1984 Fignon won the Tour again and Millar finished fourth overall and won the polka-dot climber's jersey. Here Millar remembers Fignon, who died yesterday from cancer, confirming the Frenchman's talent and character… Full Story »

PELOTON wraps and the 2001 tour de france puts woman in labor Peloton: A Film about Cycling
pelotonmovie.wordpress.com via @jnasumner &bull Aug 30, 2010Principal photography wrapped a few weeks ago. People asked if I enjoyed the whole process, knowing this had been a dream of mine for so long. It was a completely exhausting, scary, frustrating, no sleep experience that I never wanted to stop. More fun than I deserved and was so fortunate to have a great cast and crew that worked hard to complete the film's vision. Since then we have been filming some bike races here in town,… Full Story »
