Fabian Cancellara 2010: The Search for Classics Redemption
Euro Peloton &bull Yesterday
Fabian Cancellara's 2009 spring classics campaign didn't go quite to plan for the world renowned time trialist. A combination of sickness and crashes at the outset of last year set his classics preparation back, as did a string of bad luck in the biggest cobbled-classics. He broke… Full Story »

Peloton Reacts To Brutal Battering At Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne
www.cyclingnews.com via @brianbiggs &bull Mar 1, 2010Storms that ripped through Europe on Sunday demolished the Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne's field and caused organisers to shorten the race by 20 kilometres. While just 26 riders were able to finish the race, others both present and watching from afar were shocked by the tough conditions. Quick-Step's director sportif Wilfried Peeters described the race as a 'hors category' event. If your body can't stand the cold it's just… Full Story »

Race chat: Stage 5 Oman; Stage 2 Algarve
Podium Café &bull Feb 18, 2010
Things are nearing the end in Oman, where Alessandro Ballan has spent the stage in a 3-man break with Matthe Pronk and Nikita Eskov. I've been checking in on it via Twitter--if you know of another medium, pipe up. Meanwhile, in the Volta ao Algarve, the most recent ticker update has David Vitoria (Footon-Servetto), Jeremy Hunt (Cervlo), Jerome Baugnies (Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator), Michal Golas (Vacancoleil) and Julien Fouchard (Cofidis) in a break 4:32 ahead of the peloton at km 51. Today's stage is 207.5 km, so there's still a ways to go. I have respect for guys like Carlos and Thor.… Full Story »

Volta ao Algarve 2010 Preview
Podium Café &bull Feb 16, 2010
Tuesday begins the biggest international race in Portugal, like the region of Algarve is. A very touristy place, known for its beaches and its sun. This race year after year brings more notorious riders, like Armstrong once, Zulle a decade ago and Petacchi in 2007. With not such a bad weather that we saw sometimes in France at this time, good roads and a good organization, a nice time on the calendar… Full Story »

Buenos dias from Spain!
Cervelo Blogs &bull Feb 9, 2010
I am freshly back in my Spanish apartment with the first race of the season successfully behind me. The race was Etoile de Besseges in southern France, which is a pretty typical kick-off to the race season. By typical I mean, it's not yet even springtime so the weather is predictably unpredictable. The racing style is consistently attacking, being that we are in… Full Story »
