  5. Aero Frames at Interbike, Part 3: Willier TwinFoil

    Bike Hugger &bull Jan 24, 2012

Getting back to aero frames that I saw at the trade shows last fall, Wilier Treisitina had a time trial bike that was a magnet for for both interest and skepticism. The Twin Foil's frame clearly followed the Kamm foil approach to the UCI 3:1 aspect rule by having shapes that were basically deep foil sections with the… Full Story »

  7. Volagi courts public opinion

    Bicycle Blog Cycleicious &bull Jan 5, 2012

It appears Specialized Bicycle's intellectual property lawsuit against Volagi will be a high profile knockdown dragout as Volagi's principles use social media to tell their side of the story. Barley Forsman and Robert Choi left Specialized Bicycles in 2010 to begin their own bike company with a unique road bike designed for the long distance endurance rider. Both have years of experience in the fitness industry, and Choi in particular has been in the bicycle industry designing accessories for long distance and touring cyclists since the 1980s. A month after they announced their first bike, Specialized filed suit against Forsman… Full Story »

Stylish, trendy and efficient, Velocis bicycles line up in a campus bicycle rack. Bantock and Hedberg are hoping the bikes will help reduce traffic around campus and promote bicycling instead of driving. Like a Prius, Velocis electric bicycles have a regenerative braking system that lets you charge the battery while braking. Though not new for 2012, Scott Bicycles' Plasma TT bike and Foil road bike are interesting offerings in the aero market. For instance, the rear seat stay/seat tube cluster of the Plasma (first 3 pix) in some ways resembles the Noah FB's, only cleaner and without the… Full Story »
